Course benefits

The WiMAX Core network is the portion of the network between the WiMAX Base Station and the interface to the larger Data and Voice network infrastructures. In this portion of the network, the WiMAX subscriber’s traffic is transported by routers and switches through copper and fiber transmission facilities.

Proper design of the IP network and proper engineering of these facilities ensures high service quality for the end-user, and ease of operation for the WiMAX provider.

This unique WiMAX Core Network Design training course is the most authoritative WiMAX training course of its kind. The course is designed for technical staff who are planning a WiMAX deployment, and who need the skills to design a network, balancing the requirements of service quality (including throughput and performance) with minimum capital and operations cost.

In this WiMAX course, students learn a formal approach to the design of the Internet Protocol Core of a WiMAX network.

This course is one of three WiMAX training courses in a series of WiMAX certification courses which prepare students for the WiMAX Network Designer™ certification exam.

Objectives
Onb completing this course, delegates should be able to:

  • Architect the core of a WiMAX Network.
  • Explain and follow the steps of the DoceoTech core-network design checklist.
  • Engineer the backhaul links from each WiMAX base station, based on estimated subscriber load and quality of service parameters.
  • Assure appropriate bandwidth allocation for various traffic classes of service.
  • Design the IP addressing and routing plan for a WiMAX network.
  • Evaluate routers and servers for WiMAX core networks.
  • Prepare equipment lists for your WiMAX network.
  • Plan for base station construction, installation and commissioning.

Who Should Attend
Technical staff who are planning a WiMAX deployment, and who need the skills to design a network, balancing the requirements of service quality (including throughput and performance) with minimum capital and operations cost.

Course Pre-requisites
Attendees should have prior technical experience working with a mobile or wireless technology prior to attending the course.
