Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP) - Training and Certification

Certified Wireless Network Professional Program (CWNP™)

CWNP program - CWNA, CWSP, CWAP and CWNE certificationsThe Certified Wireless Network Professional Program (CWNP™) is the IT industry's only vendor-independent training and certification programme for Wireless Networking.

CWNP Wireless LAN Training and Certification are designed to expand your existing networking knowledge and certifications, to enable you apply your expertise to the field of wireless networking.

CWNP Benefits

The benefits of attaining CWNP certification include:
  • Cutting-edge knowledge and skills for IT professionals.
  • Recognised certification benefits may include new career opportunities and increased salaries.
  • Vendor-independent WLAN training and certification.
  • Training delivered by leading industry experts.

Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA)

CWNA is the foundation of the CWNP program. Covering a comprehensive range of wireless networking topics, CWNA brings IT professionals who are new to wireless networking up to speed quickly, and provides a thorough grounding in the proper design and deployment of 802.11 wireless LANs.

Earning CWNA certification ensures that you have a good, measureable knowledge and understanding of 802.11 wireless LANs. CWNA certification proves your expertise to help your competitive edge.

Demand for Wireless Skills

Certified wireless network training - CWNA, CWSP, CWNI and CWNE The Gartner Group estimates there will be more than 151,000 wireless hotspots by the year 2005. The wireless network market is growing because of the additional productivity that wireless network access brings to any organisation. However, properly trained and certified individuals are needed to make networks secure, cost-effective, and reliable.

CWNA is the foundation level wireless LAN certification for the industry standard CWNP Program, and is your starting point for wireless training and certification. CWNA covers a broad range of wireless LAN topics focused on 802.11 wireless technology rather than specific vendors' products.

As a vendor-neutral training program, by choosing CWNA training and certification, you will become prepared to configure and administrate any 802.11 wireless LAN, regardless of the vendors or products that your organisation chooses for its implementation.

CWNA Technologies

The main subject areas covered by CWNA training are:
  • Radio Frequency (RF) Technologies
  • 802.11 a/b/g RF Transmission
  • 802.11 WLAN and WWAN Infrastructure
  • Wireless Industry and Standards
  • 802.11 Wireless LAN Operation
  • WLAN Implementation and Management
  • Troubleshooting and Optimising 802.11 Networks
  • Conducting WLAN Site Surveys
  • WLAN Security.

    Enhanced Courses

Note that LEVER Technology Group PLC enhanced CWNA courses cover further material and provide additional labs to make our courses even more relevant to organisations planning and implementing secure 802.11 wireless networks.

For example, our enhanced hands-on practical security labs include coverage of Static and Dynamic WEP, Cisco LEAP, vendor-independent EAP with equipment from Proxim, Cisco, Linksys and others, EAP/EAPOL, TKIP, MIC, roaming Layer 3 VPNs, RADIUS authentication, and 802.11 protocol analysis.

    Obtaining CWNA certification

    • Attend the Official Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) course.

    • Note that your Official CWNA Study Guide and courseware is included free of charge when you attend the course at LEVER Technology Group PLC training centres.

    • Take the Official CWNA Practice Test at a discounted price to students of LEVER Technology Group PLC's CWNA courses.

    • Pass the CWNA Certification Exam (PW0-100) at any Prometric Testing Center by registering at www.prometric.com.

    The CWNA Exam

The CWNA exam (Exam# PW0-100) consists of 90 multiple choice and multiple answer, delivered randomly. A score of 70% is required to pass the exam. (CWNP Instructors must score at least 80%). The specific topics covered in the exam can be found in the CWNA Exam Objectives. The scope of an individual's understanding of wireless LAN networking will be evident if they achieve a passing score on the exam due to the diversity and complexity of the exam.

The exam covers a broad range of topics relating to wireless networks, but focusses on the operational and implementation aspects of IEEE 802.11 WLANs.

You should set aside several days study time for the CWNA exam.

The CWNA exam is available at Prometric Testing Centers world-wide.
