WLAN Installation for a Major Investment House
Our client is one of the most prominent and successful investors in the European buyout market. Whilst not the largest company in their sector, they are one of the most successful.

Having demanding clients, both internally and externally, the Company has considerable structure in the IT operations and procedures.

LEVER was successful against other contenders for the design, implementation, training and support of what is currently one of the most sophisticated 802.11 Wi-Fi wireless networks in the UK.

The solution employs a resilient, switched WLAN architecture providing seamless coverage using both 802.11a and 802.11b/g technologies. Four independent wireless networks are in operation, each incorporating different security schemes to cater for a wide range of users.

Multiple SSIDs and VLANs are employed, along with RADIUS authentication services, X.509 certificate services, 802.1x with EAP-PEAP and EAP-TLS authentication, WPA v1 and WPA v2 encryption and key management, dynamic RF management, active intrusion detection and protection (Wireless IDS and IPS), managed PoE, centralised reporting and management of the wireless network services provided at the Company's local international sites.

The installations have been tested, proven, audited and documented using advanced tools and methodologies.

Following successful operation of the UK network, LEVER were commissioned to implement wireless networks at the client's European offices in Paris and Frankfurt. These additional projects incorporated initial site surveys, followed by comprehensive multi-part RF site surveys, installation in a demanding environment, remote testing and commissioning, culminating in the delivery and long-term support of a unified pan European wireless network.

The client, and one of its other key IT suppliers, have established long-term partnerships with LEVER Technology Group PLC, with the intention that LEVER should meet all of their future wireless networking needs.
